Record wet conditions across western SD

Year-to-date precipitation in Rapid City (KRAP) is a staggering 19.91 inches, 9.18 inches above the annual average of 10.73 inches. So far, this is the wettest year on record for the airport with 1962 coming in at second place with 18.80 inches of precipitation. Needless to say, there hasn't been much for wildfire activity in the Rapid City area or anywhere in the Black Hills during what normally is the most active time of the year.

Moist conditions are expected through the weekend as active northwest flow continues to push across the state.
